Some small dog breeds are better than others when living in a small space. It is certainly possible to find a pet dog that will make a great small pet.

Here we list a number of pet breeds we believe are more appropriate for apartment living. Not all breeds listed are small dog breeds. That doesn't mean that if the dog of your dreams isn't on this list, it's not appropriate as an apartment pet, it is just that you'll want to realize that they may take more care. For example, you may need to plan on more trips to the local park with a ball to throw to give them the extra exercise they need.
