The Glen of Imaal Terrier is a tough, cocky dog when hunting, and a calm, mild-mannered dog indoors. They are known for being almost excessively devoted, making them one of the best small dogs with children. Unlike most other deeply devoted pets, they are OK changing masters. They train well. They can even be taught to retrieve balls and flying disks. Other animals, especially ones that can be mistaken as prey don't fair well when around these dogs.
