The Standard Schnauzer dog is fearless and protective with a clever, intelligent and playful side. The breed is good with older gentle children and should be socialized when young. Training with a firm but gentle master who communicates that they are the boss is recommended. They make great watch dogs and are a valuable addition to any family.
