The Lagotto Romagnolo is more active than most. They are non-shedding which makes them a good dog for allergy sufferers. They have a wonderful, happy disposition and a willingness to work. They are intelligent, almost too intelligent as they need to be challenged or they can get bored and make trouble. They are very good with obedience training and really seem to enjoy agility training.

The Lagotto Romagnolo comes from a working dog heritage and has a natural ability for tracking down people and other interesting smells. In fact, some dogs in the breed are excellent truffle hunters.
