|If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went. - Will Rogers|
The Schipperke is a small, sturdy, tail-less breed with a thick, double coat. The only AKC acceptable color for the Schipperke is solid black, although the breed does include some beautiful tans and fawns.
The Schipperke is a hot-tempered, high-spirited dog that likes to howl and bark. As one owner put it, "A big dog in a little dog's body."
Some can be difficult to housebreak. They are extremely protective and loyal to children. They will happily accept the family cat and normally don't have any trouble with other dogs either.
