Although the Boston Terrier was originally bred for dog fighting, breeding has now tempered the aggressive nature. They are intelligent, alert, gentle, and well-mannered. Some are good watchdogs while others, usually females, have been known not to ever bark at the door. They train well, although they can be difficult to housebreak.
